The
visorhelm is more typical of the fifteenth century than the sixteenth.
|
|
The
wide visor works well with a bevor or a coif. The helmet also allows for
the ready addition of a camail.

This
simple helmet is designed for use with the visor down and the visor only
opens to put the head in and has no provision to see when open. However
the cross fluting makes the sixteen gauge visor extremely strong and deflects
impacts away from slits and holes.

The
fourteen gauge crown is heavily flared at the neck for safety and the
hook and staple are substantial. Sights are level and at eye level.
