The
sparrows beak closed helm
is a historically popular helmet design. |
|
Our
helmet crowns are made from two fourteen gauge halves welded together
along the crown with a special proprietary weld. The edges are rolled
then the rolled edges welded together. Much much stronger than any other
method of joining sheet steel plates.

The
remaining plates in the helmet are sixteen gauge. Except for the hook
and staple made of heavy gauge plate. These hooks are designed to resist
direct hits with swords or lances.

This
customer wanted an asymmetrical vent system
on their visor. The sight alignment is very important. The sight absolutely must be straight, level and at eye level. |

This
is a simple sparrows beak helmet with a one piece visor.
|
|
The
sparrows beak closed helm is a good compromise for use both mounted and
afoot. The vision is optimal and the depth of the visor allows much improved
breathing. The neck protection interfaces extremely well with gorgets.
