Edge and Contour Matching

EDGE AND CONTOUR MATCHING
It is assumed that most armour is composed of many small components held together by rivets and straps. To make an effective and attractive armour these components must flow smoothly in their contours and their edges must match up. To achieve this the unfinished pieces are clamped together and studied. Marking the edges to be trimmed and areas to be recontoured. Vise grips, C-clamps, and measuring tape clamps are all useful for this. Only when the edges and contours are matched can you proceed to rolling the edges. Remember to leave three quarters of an inch all around each piece for edge rolling. The components after planishing and polishing are spread wide and will need to be tightened down for this phase then spread back out for the rolling of the edges. After which they are tightened back down on each other for the final assembly.
