Tapered Swords

This straightened leaf spring has been
marked to be cut. The diagonal cut leads through the center hole in the
spring. The cut is made slowly with a hacksaw. Never ever with a torch
as that burns the temper out and never ever with a disk grinder or circular
saw as that WILL grab and jump dangerously!

This finished sword was closely made
from a style of Swiss sword. Almost five feet long these swords sometimes
were straight sometimes slightly curved.

The relatively short hand and a half
grips are a fake horn compound. The complicated guard composed of individual
cold forged bars was first welded together slotted onto a false tang that
was then knocked out and the slot hard fitted to the slightly larger tang.
The pommel is made of two heart shaped pieces of quarter inch plate pounded
into a dish shape then welded together on the tang and bolster.
